Dear New York Tech Students,

With Thanksgiving just a few days away, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the dedication and perseverance you continue to demonstrate during this most challenging year. It's not over yet, and we have the month of December to contend with, but you all deserve a round of applause for getting this far, against some significant odds.

The challenges you've overcome and considerable achievements you continue to make toward earning your New York Tech degree are testament to the quality of individuals that comprise our community. We should all be proud of the ways we've come together while, for the most part, being apart, and for the individual and collective efforts that contribute to our maker-doer culture, even in the age of COVID-19.

I'm also thankful for the mutual respect and flexibility you've shown in adapting to the new ways we must all conduct ourselves. It hasn't been easy, but thanks to you, we've achieved some noteworthy outcomes ranging from our low COVID-positivity rates to the many personal and professional achievements of our students, faculty, and staff.

While we won't have the opportunity to connect in-person during this holiday season, I hope you enjoy a peaceful few days off and are able spend some quality time (virtual or in-person) with your loved ones before we return to finish off the fall semester and bid adieu to 2020.

Following Thanksgiving, we will be operating remotely for the remainder of the fall semester and, for most, through the beginning of the spring semester until March 1. As such, it will be some time before I will be able to express my gratitude to you in person. But that does not diminish how much I admire your academic and other New York Tech achievements throughout 2020.
