These online resources will help you assess your personality type, interests, abilities, and values—and identify which career opportunities may be right for you.

O*Net

O*Net is an online database that describes careers in terms of the skills and knowledge required, how the work is performed, and typical work settings.

Click on the “Advanced Search” tool to see how your abilities, interests, knowledge, and values relate to specific occupations. For each job, O*Net lists:

  • Personal requirements: Skills and knowledge.
  • Personal characteristics: Abilities, interests, and values.
  • Experience requirements: Training and level of licensing and experience.
  • Job requirements: Work activities and context, including the physical, social, and organizational factors.
  • Labor market: Occupational outlook and the pay scale.
