In support of the Workday transition, we are setting up a training program to ensure everyone is prepared for the new environment. Our training methods are designed to accommodate a wide range of learning styles. Workday Essentials Training

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental features of Workday. It covers navigation, basic functions, and essential tools necessary for everyday tasks. Participants will learn how to manage personal information, access payroll and benefits details, and perform basic reporting. This training ensures staff are comfortable using Workday to streamline their daily operations efficiently.

Designed for managerial roles, this course focuses on leveraging Workday to manage teams effectively. Key topics include approving time entries, managing team schedules, and tracking performance. Managers will also learn how to run reports and use analytics to make informed decisions. The goal is to enable managers to utilize Workday to enhance team productivity and oversight.

This specialized course for faculty members focuses on academic-specific functions within Workday. Topics include how to use Workday for research project management and grant tracking. This course ensures faculty can fully utilize Workday's capabilities to support their academic responsibilities.

Finance Training

This class will provide the foundational information to understand the role of a Cost Center Manager (CCM) and how to complete work in Workday. This will provide tools to initiate business processes and understand how the HR actions intersect with financials. The course consists of PowerPoint lectures, demonstrations within Workday, and quizzes intended for participants to self-assess their learning.

This Workday course is intended for individuals for those responsible for creating positions and job requisitions, initiating hires and overseeing onboarding processes for new employees at New York Tech.

This Workday course is intended for individuals who manage employees holding multiple positions and those requiring extra compensation for additional duties. It provides an overview of various employment scenarios by the employee population, including staff, and academics.

  • Understand Additional Employment concepts and know where to reference the related business rules

This Workday course is designed for users that initiate or approve changes to workers during their employment.

This course is designed as an introduction to New York Tech’s staffing models in Workday, also known as Supervisory Organizations (Sup. Orgs.). These Sup Orgs are the organizational structure of departmental hierarchies, the way Workday organizes employees.

After completing this training, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the hierarchy of the Workday Sup. Org.
  • Identify themselves on the Sup. Org.
  • Understand what instances cause individuals to be part of multiple Sup. Orgs.

Student Employment Training

This training session for student employees covers how to use Workday to manage schedules, timesheets, and performance metrics. It aims to teach navigation of Workday’s features for efficient management of work hours, attendance, and job performance.
